Frequently asked questions
Cash-based/ concierge physical therapy is an out of network service. These providers do not accept any health insurance. This means cash-based practices does not directly bill insurance. At Improved Motions patients pay for each visit for their 1-on-1, personalized physical therapy session. This allows us to provide better- quality care/ service not covered or reimbursed by most insurance companies. This method of care allows our therapists to purely focus on developing individualized patient care. Leading to better patient outcomes and achieving patients’ goals with reduced visits and in less time.
“Working for Patients NOT Insurance Companies.”- Dr. Aaron Lebauer
In the United States health insurance companies continue to cut reimbursement for rehabilitation service and skilled intervention. This determines how most clinicians treat patients. Due to the decline in reimbursement clinics are forced to treat multiple patients during a single session. Which results in lower patient care and poor outcomes. These clinics are forced to provide sub-par care with not offering the most advanced treatment available. With a cash-based practice, we can decide how patients are treated. Delivering 1-on-1 personalized care and implement the most cutting-edge therapeutic treatments available
Yes, some insurance cover physical therapy. As Improved Motions is a direct access provider, so it do not require a physician’s referral to begin seeking treatment. Health insurance consider us an out of network provider. At the end of each visit, the patient pays the entire balance. However, if the patient choses to contacts his/her health insurance company he/she may have out-of-network benefits. If so, Improved Motions will provide an invoice of all payment and billing information to submit a claim to the insurance company. By submitting your invoice, patients may be able to recover a percentage of the cost from the health insurance company.
Because Medicare guidelines dictate coverage for physical therapy service under Medicare Part B. Patients must see a Medicare provider for physical therapy services. This mean Improved Motions is unable to treat individuals with Medicare insurance for physical therapy services. Improved Motions CAN see patients for services that are not provided by Medicare such as health, fitness and wellness. This means we can see patients for performance training and wellness.
